Stephen P. Reynolds will succeed William S. Weaver as president and CEO for Puget Energy. Weaver, however, will remain chairman of the board of directors. Reynolds retired from PG&E in 1997, after nearly 25 years with the company, and became president and CEO of Reynolds Energy International in 1998.

The North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) has elected Bruce A. Scherr, president and CEO of Sparks Companies Inc., to its independent board of trustees. Also re-elected to the board were James M. Goodrich, Charles J. Henry, and Donald P. Hodel for additional three-year terms.

Jim Wise, chairman and CEO of Neostar Group Inc., has joined the volunteer leadership team of the Resource Alliance Group of Houston, a non-profit organization providing former Enron employees with resources to start new businesses in Houston.

Southern Union Company announced the promotion of James H. Oglesby to president and COO of its Missouri Gas Energy (MGE) division. Oglesby joined MGE in 1968 as a service technician. He was named COO in September 2001.

Jim Groninger has been named Director of Government Relations for the Natural Gas Supply Association (NGSA). He came to NGSA from Texaco, where he was the Western Regional Manager for Public and Government Affairs.

Entergy Corp. announced the election of Claiborne P. Deming to its board of directors. Deming has served as president and CEO of Murphy Oil Corp since October 1994. He is also a member of the board of directors of Murphy Oil Corp. and Murphy Oil Co. Ltd. of Calgary, Alberta.

Don Baker, former vice president of EPRI International, has been named president and COO of EPRI Worldwide Holdings Inc., a wholly-owned taxable subsidiary of EPRI, which was formed to support the growing international market for energy R&D.

DTE Coal Services, a non-regulated subsidiary of DTE Energy Co., announced that Matt Paul has been named vice president, coal and emissions trading. Paul joined DTE Coal Services in June 2000 as director of coal and emissions trading. J.N. Keys also joined DTE Coal Services as director of sales for the western and Midwestern regions of the U.S. Keys most recently was director of coal marketing for Duke Energy Merchants.

Marian Davenport was been named senior vice president of legislative and regulatory affairs for Dynegy Inc. Davenport formerly served as division president, commercial operations, of Dynegy Global Communications. She joined Destec Energy, an independent power producer in 1986, and joined NGC Corp., Dynegy's predecessor company, when Destec was acquired by NGC in 1997. Dynegy also named Michael E. Flinn president of Dynegy Europe Limited, the company's European business unit. He replaces Gary Cardone, who announced his retirement after 15 years with Dynegy. Flinn joined Dynegy in 1992.

DOE Secretary Spencer Abraham named Steve Wright as administrator of the Bonneville Power Administration. Wright has been with the agency for over 20 years, and has served as acting administrator since November 2000, following the departure of then administrator Judi Johansen.

John Mahoney, president of CMS Viron Energy Services, was elected president of the National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO), the energy service industry's trade association.

CMS Energy Corp. announced that Michael D. VanHemert has been promoted to the new position of vice president and secretary of its diversified energy business unit, CMS Enterprises. VanHemert joined the company in 1996 as assistant general counsel.

Semco Energy announced changes to its board of directors. John R. Hinton has been appointed to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the chairman of the board, William L. Johnson. Marcus Jackson, president and CEO of Semcon Energy Inc., will become chairman of the board. Thomas W. Sherman was nominated by the board to replace the current director, Daniel Burkhardt, who will not stand for re-election when his term ends.
