John M.
Melby has joined Automated Power Exchange as vice president of
North American marketing. Previously, Melby was senior director of
marketing and product development for the California Power Exchange.
Bay State
Gas has named Robert T. Bucknell director of technical operations.
Bucknell has 17 years of experience in the utility industry, and most
recently was vice president of business development for COM/Energy
Technologies.
Michael
R. Mott was promoted to senior vice president and corporate controller
for Dynegy. Mott joined the company in 1995 as director of financial
reporting. Prior to joining Dynegy, Mott was a senior audit manager
with the Houston office of Price Waterhouse LLP.
Edison Mission
Marketing & Trading has elected Paul D. Jacob president of
EMMT, a subsidiary of Edison Mission Energy. Jacob succeeds Mark
Maisto, who resigned to pursue other interests. Prior to this
appointment, Jacob was vice president of energy marketing and trading,
and has been with EMMTÕs predecessor company and affiliates since
1994.
Lee Olivier
has joined Entergy Nuclear Northeast as senior vice president of Indian
Point nuclear plant. Olivier will manage the merger and future operations
of a reunited Indian Point 2 and 3, which will be the first time in
25 years that Indian Point has been under one operator. Olivier has
more than 30 years of nuclear industry experience, and comes to Entergy
from Northeast Utilities, where he was senior vice president and chief
nuclear officer for Millstone Station.
Georgia
Power has announced several executive appointments. Mickey
Brown has been named senior vice president of distribution. Brown
joined Georgia Power in 1969. Bryan Fletcher was named vice
president of region operations. Fletcher has been with the company
for 20 years in a variety of positions. Ed Holcombe was promoted
to vice president of governmental and regulatory affairs to replace
Fletcher. Holcombe was previously manager of state legislative affairs.
Chris Hobson has been promoted to vice president of environmental
affairs. Prior to the promotion, Hobson was general manager for environmental
affairs.
J. Rob
Minter was named vice president for Mirant Corp's America's subsidiary
Washington D.C. office. Minter previously worked as a director of
governmental affairs and public affairs for Mirant in Atlanta and
New York. He joined the Southern Company system in 1983.
The Oglethorpe
Power Corp. has re-elected J. Calvin Earwood chairman of its
board of directors. Sam Rabun was re-elected vice-chairman.
Mac F. Oglesby was also re-elected treasurer. Each will serve
for a one-year term.
John E.
Schneider was named executive vice president and COO of Semco
EnergyÕs Michigan utility. Schneider became senior vice president
of corporate development in 1999 after joining the company in 1998
as senior vice president and COO of Semco Energy Ventures Inc.
Texas-New
Mexico Power announced that Jack V. Chambers, Jr. will be replacing
Kevern Joyce as chairman, president, and CEO of the company,
when Joyce resigns. Joyce will continue with the company as an adviser
to senior management and to the board of directors. Chambers has served
as senior vice president and COO since 2000. He joined TNMP in 1979.
Harold
Kvisle has been appointed president and CEO of TransCanada Pipelines
Ltd. Kvisle previously held the position of executive vice president
for trading and business development. He joined TransCanada in 1999.
TXU has elected
Jack E. Little to its board of directors, replacing James
A. Middleton, who has retired from the board. Little is the former
president and CEO of Shell Oil Co. and Shell Exploration & Production.
