Richard R. Grigg, Jr. was elected president and COO of Wisconsin Electric Power Co. and Wisconsin Natural Gas Co., and made a v.p. of the parent company, Wisconsin Energy Corp. He will succeed John W. Boston, who was elected vice chairman of Wisconsin Energy Corp. Boston will retire on July 1 after 13 years of service.

Michael R. Whitley was elected president and COO of KU Energy Corp. and its principal subsidiary, Kentucky Utilities Co. Whitley joined KU Energy in 1964 and was formerly executive v.p. and CFO. Other appointments include James W. Tipton, senior v.p., nonregulated activities; O.M. Goodlett, senior v.p., finance and administration; James M. Allison, senior v.p., customer operations and marketing; and Wayne T. Lucas, senior v.p., energy supply.

Loren L. Taylor was elected president of NSP Electric, a business unit of Northern States Power Co. NSP Electric includes Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Taylor also assumed over some of the duties of NSP president and COO Edwin M. Theisen, who retired Nov. 30. Thomas A. Micheletti was elected v.p., public and government affairs.

Sharon Decker was named v.p., communications and community relations, at Duke Power Co. She joined the company in 1979 and previously was v.p., customer services.

Atlantic Electric made Marilyn T. Powell v.p., marketing. Atlantic Energy Inc. hired James E. Franklin II as inhouse general counsel for the parent company and its subsidiary, Atlantic Electric.

Hans R. Konow was appointed president and CEO of the Canadian Electrical Association, the trade group for Canada's electric utilities. He most recently was v.p., public affairs, for the association.

UtiliCorp United named Sally Chin McElwreath v.p., corporate communications. Louis C. Rephlo was named president and g.m., Missouri operations.

Ray J. Groves and Margaret A. McKenna were elected to the board of directors of Consolidated Natural Gas Co. Groves is retired chairman and CEO of Ernst & Young. McKenna is president of Lesley College.

Connecticut Natural Gas Corp. promoted Richard K. Winslow to g.m., Greenwich (CT) division. He joined CNG in 1988 as an energy consultant in commercial/ industrial sales.

Donald I. Moritz retired in December as chairman and CEO of Equitable Resources Inc. in Pittsburgh. Moritz, who joined the company in 1952, will continue to serve as chairman of the executive committee. Frederick H. Abrew, president and COO, was named CEO. Among other appointments: Gregory R. Spencer was elected v.p., human resources; A. Mark Abramovic was elected v.p. and CFO; J.A. Townsend was named president of Equitable Resources Energy Co., an oil and gas subsidiary.

Thomas R. Blose, Jr., senior v.p., operations and engineering, at United Cities Gas Co., was elected president of the Tennessee Gas Association.

The Empire District Electric Co. in Joplin, MO, named Myron W. McKinney executive v.p. for customer service, production, transmission, and distribution.

Harold C. Weathers, v.p. and Macon division manager for Atlanta Gas Light Co., retired after 34 years of service.

Pennsylvania Power & Light Co. named Robert D. Fagan president of Power Markets Development Co., a subsidiary that invests in domestic and international electric generation projects. Fagan previously was v.p. and g.m. for Mission Energy.

Donald M. Clements, Jr. joined American Electric Power Service Corp. as senior v.p., corporate development. He previously was senior v.p., external affairs, for Gulf States Utilities.

Richard D. Kinder, president and COO of Enron Corp., was elected 1995 chairman of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America.

Yankee Energy System Inc. named Page D. Miller v.p. of Yankee Energy Production Services Inc., a new power marketing subsidiary.

The Gas Industry Standards Board (GISB) elected Stephen D. Chesebr¢ chairman, and chose Houston as its permanent location. Chesebr¢ is president and CEO of Tenneco Gas. GISB is developing standards for using electronic bulletin boards in the natural gas industry. t
