Joseph Santaniello has been named director of management information systems for NUI Corp. He was previously director of engineering at Elizabethtown Gas, NUI's New Jersey operating division. Stephen Liaskos, formerly controller at Metallgesellschaft Corp., joins NUI as controller. Michael A. Palecki, most recently of the Florida Public Service Commission, has been named v.p. of regulatory affairs for NUI's southern division.
BICC Utility Cable Co. has appointed Steve McGrath plant manager at its Marshall, TX, manufacturing facility. McGrath spent the last two years as plant manager at the company's Malvern, AK, facility.
W. George Hairston III, president and CEO of Southern Nuclear Operating Co. and executive v.p. of nuclear operations at Georgia Power Co., has been elected to the board of directors of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations. Hairston replaces George W. Davis, who retired from Boston Edison Co., where he served as president and COO.
NAC International has appointed Bill Lee, formerly senior v.p. for Sierra Nuclear, g.m. of the engineering and design services group. Lee served previously as assistant v.p. for corporate development.
Electronic Lighting Co. has named Mark Gabriel senior v.p. of sales and marketing. Gabriel was v.p. and g.m. of SmartEnergy Services Inc., a subsidiary of Central Vermont Public Service Co.
Marvin W. Bomar \(em former executive director of engineering and construction for Monongahela Power Co., The Potomac Edison Co., and West Penn Power Co. \(em has been named v.p. of Monongahela Power Co. He replaces Thomas A. Barlow, who retired after 33 years of service.
Michael A. Walker has joined the Princeton office of the law firm Buchanan Ingersoll as a shareholder in the firm's corporate finance group, with an emphasis on the energy sector.
Fred Williams has been named senior v.p. of wholesale power marketing at Southern Co. Services, a subsidiary of The Southern Co. Williams will oversee the wholesale power marketing group, which was recently reorganized to focus on competitive markets in the Southeast. He will also direct wholesale marketing activities at The Southern Co.'s five utilities.
Christopher D. Maloney has been appointed v.p. and g.m. responsible for domestic and international business development at Unicom Resources Inc. Maloney was most recently regional manager for Mission Energy's central region.
Robert Stewart, former director of corporate communications for Pacific Telesis in Washington, DC, has accepted the position of director of communications at MCI Corp.
Allan Thoms, chairman of the Iowa Utilities Board, has been named to the Committee on Communications of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners.
Jack E. McGregor has replaced William S. Warner as chairman of the board at Aquarion Co. Warner will become vice chairman. Richard K. Schmidt replaces McGregor as president and CEO.
Great Lakes Transmission Co. has appointed F. Wayne Johnson and Richard D. Goar directors of its eastern and western operations, respectively.
Glenda Cafer has joined the Kansas Corporation Commission as director of the utilities division. Cafer, an attorney, specializes in utility and administrative law.
TNP Enterprises, Inc. has elected Dennis H. Withers and Dr. Carol Diann Smith Surles to the boards of both TNP Enterprises and its subsidiary, Texas-New Mexico Power Co. Withers is president of Trinity Forge, Inc. a Texas-based manufacturer of closed die forgings. Surles is president of Texas Women's University in Denton.
Floyd L. (Mac) Norton and John D. McGrane, federal electrical energy lawyers, have joined the Washington, DC, office of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.
James C. Holcombe has resigned from the board of directors of Nevada Power Co. after six years' service. t
